Jet Infosystems sets up an Oracle-based centralized account management system at OTP Bank Ukraine


Moscow and Kiev. OTP Bank Ukraine and Jet Infosystems have completed the implementation of a centralized account management system based on Oracle Identity Manager and Identity Analytics. Access rights requests are now reviewed and granted in less than half the time needed before. The system also reduces user account administration costs, and any changes in access rights can now be audited in a centralized manner. The system covers the bank's entire network of about 150 branches in Ukraine.

OTP Bank is a leading financial institution in the country. All key business processes at OTP bank are continuously being updated, and its IT systems are no exception. The new Oracle Identity Manager (IdM) system is a logical step to further optimization and information security enhancement at the bank.

The contract was awarded to Jet Infosystems, the leading systems integrator in the CIS for account management solutions, with a portfolio of 20+ major IdM projects. Jet Infosystems has a status of Oracle Platinum Partner with a specialization in Oracle Identity Analytics 11g.

The first of the two stages of the project was completed in March 2012. During this stage, Jet Infosystems' experts reviewed the existing account management processes at the bank and suggested upgrade options. Next, these processes were reengineered and automated. The principal data systems employed at the bank, such as ABS B2, Oracle Siebel CRM and Exchange corporate email, were connected to Oracle IdM. As a result, over 80% of access rights are now granted automatically.

IdM was integrated with Oracle Identity Analytics (OIA) to accommodate the role-based access policy used by OTP, to completely automate the granting of basic access rights to new employees, and to control the life cycle of various roles. Apart from automatic role-based access, a user can request additional rights, and to obtain access to specialized systems that are not managed by IdM. Such requests are reviewed and automatically transferred to the corporate Service Desk using a transparent procedure.

"In less than a year we got a new system that reduces administration costs and effectively prevents unauthorized access to information. Basic access rights are automatically granted to new employees in accordance with their status and revoked once employment terminates. Expanded rights are granted after a user request is reviewed at all levels, allowing the data security service at the head office to make an informed decision," explains Dmitriy Yanishevskiy, OTP Bank's chief security officer.
