Jet Infosystems opens a test facility for data storage solutions

Moscow. Jet Infosystems has opened an IT facility  to demonstrate advanced data management and storage solutions for virtual environments such as EMC tiered storage and Symantec backup, deduplication and archiving products. Jet engineers have conducted a number of tests that clearly demonstrate all the benefits of such solutions to customers. Model scenarios were also developed for a variety of business applications. While available for remote testing, the system can also be delivered to customers' sites for test runs.

"Our facility is a comprehensive solution ready to test a variety of tasks related to data storage and availability on VMware virtual machines. The bench employs and will employ the very latest software releases. Ready-to-use demonstration scenarios and pre-installed applications considerably reduce the time needed for testing.  Moreover, customers can download their own data to the bench for a precise assessment of the benefits of using a product on their servers," says Aleksandr Kotenko, manager of business development at Jet Infosystems.

Handling enormous amounts of data is already a challenge for health care institutions (x-rays, tomography images, etc.), banks (scanned copies of contracts with customers, payment orders , etc.), design offices and industrial plants (drawings and documentation), as well as for any company that uses corporate email, given the ever-increasing size of messages and the tendency to attach large files to messages (such as scans or photographs), and to send messages  in multiple copies. Advanced archiving, deduplication and recovery technologies reduce the amount of data storage and improve application performance.
